On Sunday evening, we toured a local wetland. Alton kept a tight grip on my finger for the first loop and ran much of the way. He directed our return tour, however, with great authority. Fortunately, J and I were granted brief periods of time to take "pretty" pictures for La La.
Tonight's journey was an attempt to capture the setting sun over grassland. A sulking prairie chicken and confident pheasant, however, proved too great a distraction. By the time we reached our destination the sun had set behind a hedge row.
J is burning fossil fuels tomorrow so Alton and I will have to take our evening constitutional alone. We'll decide then if we should take another tour of the lake or try to capture the elusive hillside. Then again, perhaps we'll direct our efforts towards water towers and windmills.
