Alton can talk. He loves to talk. He is the talkingest thing you ever saw. And, sometimes you can actually understand what he's saying.

In the past 24 hours Alton's decided he can say the word no. And, I mean really say it. No more dabbling in the English language, the boy is serious. Alton articulates each letter with such emphasis the word sounds more like "No-ow."

"Are you happy?"
"No."

"Do you want to go to K's house?"
"No."

"Do you want to read a book?"
"No."
Pause. Long Pause.
"Book!"
"Alton, do you want to read a book?"
"No."
(Keep in mind he's now scanning the bookshelf for The Little Engine that Could and fully expects you to read it once it's found.)

"Are your eyes blue?"
"No."

"Do you want milk?"
"No."
Pause. Another Long Pause.
"Milk!"
"Do you want milk?"
"No."
(The boy is now pounding on the refridgerator door and dancing in place in anticipation of a cold one. Of course he doesn't want any milk!)
