Alton doesn't like sharing his bed anymore. Rather than just telling either J or myself to vamoose, however, the boy is in constant motion until one of us calls it quits.
Off and on for several weeks now, I've walked out on the boy. My departure has been met with a satisfied sigh and, in very little time at all, Alton's asleep for the entire night. Sweet boy!
Last night J put the boy to bed. When Alton wouldn't settle down, J left the room.
Together, from our own bed, we sat listening to the little man's quiet rustling. We heard a yawn. We heard a sigh.
J and I shared a smile. Once again, our boy was proving himself to be the most amazing, most wonderful child in the whole world.
That's when Alton popped his head around the corner of his room and smiled. For a full five seconds he clung off the edge of his bed before laughing at us.
He kicked me out of bed about 5 minutes later and slept comfortably all night.
