In the time since his arrival on September 3, 2007, Alton has developed into a little person with a big personality. He prefers physical comedy, especially a very dramatic sneeze -- real or otherwise. His belly laughs are contagious. Alton is generous with his smiles and sloppy with his kisses. He likes to sing, kick and chew. He prefers a countdown before being twirled about. Alton watches Dad play video games while sitting up, but likes to look in the mirror while laying on his stomach. He likes to read. He is quick to talk and generally very loud. He loves to snuggle, prefers sleeping on his side and is slow to wake up. And, the boy's manly burps and farts indicate satisfaction with his meal.
Alton is also very quick to share his displeasure too.
To say that Alton has changed our lives is a gross understatement. He's certainly taught us a lot of patience, but Alton's also offered us new reasons to laugh and love. No doubt we could do with a lot less poop in our lives, but there isn't anything his smile can't outshine.
I was in love with life 183 days ago. I just didn't realize how much I'd love life by becoming a mom too.
