A long day as turned into an even longer night. Alton made his first trip to the emergency room tonight after slicing his tongue open. A lacerated tongue doesn't get a lot of attention unless it threatens one's speech. Alton's wound, thankfully, isn't that severe. It has, however, impacted his ability to suck. For a baby who remains quite fond of his bottle of milk and pacifer, life is especially rough right now. Compounding the baby's issues is his first true cold -- complete with snotty nose, fever and cough.
